Hello Kitty!

Gosh I haven't blogged in a while. I'm just a very busy person. But this past Sunday I put everything on hold and made my sister's baby shower my number one priority. She choose Hello Kitty for the theme and I used lots of color instead of just pink or purple. The first thing I worked on were handmade Hello Kitty heads for centerpieces. (two of them aren't shown.)

Each Hello Kitty had a nose the same color as the knot in the hair bow.
The hair bows were ribbons with Hello Kitty on them. There were no centerpieces left after the shower :)
The next item on my agenda was to set up games and of course with games come prizes!
I decided to give gift baskets instead of the typical gift in a gift bag.
I used both colorful and hello kitty boxes.
Each basket had an assortment of lotion, shower gel, lofas, oil diffusers, sanitizer, etc.
This basket was for the diaper raffle. I found some of the cutest zebra printed items. Those are zebra facial tissues in the front there. I also slipped in a gift card to the Elephant Bar.
I wrapped all of the prizes in cello wrap and curling ribbon and the winners picked the baskets they wanted.
This the diaper cake and my gift to my sister.

And although I didn't make the cake I just have to show a picture of it.

Tiffany's

My daughter was born before Christmas, however, there isn't too much to plan with an infant (less than a month old) at Christmas time. So I started "traditional mommy duties" this past February. I decided to have my precious little girl christened on Valentine's Day. I only had close friends and family present. For the theme I chose a Tiffany's lunch. I wish I had more pictures but I didn't have a camera. (I think I was still running of the very forgetful pregnancy brain lol)
This is one of the many cupcakes I served after lunch. They were so delicious! I am so grateful for my mom's friend who was able to supply me with my picky request :)
This was a surprise cake from my mom's friend as well. Isn't it cute?! My ladybug loved it.
More of the yummy cupcakes. As you can see they weren't lasting very long on the tray.
Here is the "Tiffany's Box". I'm not very traditional so we had a circle instead of a regular old box.

Fresh Start

Hello. This is my very first blog post...ever. I'm starting this blog to help me keep track of all the crafts, events, holidays, and birthdays I encounter. And there's normally a lot within a year. But this year, (Dec.2009-Dec.2010) I am taking on a tidal wave of special occasions. I have been blessed to become a mother over this past year and that alone is one continuous task. So with the role of being mommy, I had to become even more involved in everything.
Well as  I stated I have had a nice number of special occasions this year. Mainly because I've had a nice number of changes in my life. Aside from becoming a new mother, I was also fortunate enough to go through my pregnancy and motherhood thus far, with two of my sisters (who aren't my biological sisters but we don't think that). So as you can image we all had to prepare for three of everything. 3 baptisms, 3 Easters, 3 Halloweens, 3 christmas' and don't forget birthdays. (who all happen to be weeks apart lol) Then to top it all another close friend and my sister (biological) announced their pregnancies. See a tidal wave.
So this year there has been baptisms, baby showers, birthdays, and I still need to prepare for Christmas, a first birthday party, and one more baby shower. But at least this year is coming to an end.....And then New Years.
